The fastest route from Stockholm to Stora Blåsjön goes via Sundsvall – Timrå – Ramsele (road 331), where you turn off towards Strömsund (road 345)
But there are more options:
Drive Indalsleden (road 86 and road 87) via Bispgården – Hammarstrand- Skyttmon – Hammerdal to Strömsund. This road is considered to be one of Sweden’s most beautiful roads. The Thai Pavilion is not far from the road and is really worth visiting. (To get the best view of the valley it is to recommend to drive this route southwards.)
Instead
of going via Sundsvall you might prefer to go to Östersund.
If so, you turn off from the E4 at Tönnebro (road 83), go via
Ljusdal and Färila (road 84) and eventually road 45, which starts in
Dalarna and is the main road northwards to Östersund.
A journey through
Norway over Trondheim might also be a good alternative. You follow
the E6 and near Grong you take off towards Gäddede.
